ICM Chennai churns out first batch of MBA graduates

Natesan Institute of Cooperative Management held its first Convocation for MBA 2012-14 batch on Saturday. NCUI President  Chandara Pal Singh Yadav also the Chairman of NCCT handed over the MBA degrees to students in the Dr. Varghese Kurien Hall of the Institute in Chennai.

In his convocation address, he congratulated all the students and stressed that the true social value of education included personal empowerment as well as the ability to contribute to social welfare. He added to be a successful person one must first be a good citizen. He advised the students, to carry three P’s essential for success i. e Purity, Patience and Perseverance in their life.

Amudha Arunachalam, President Tamil Nadu Cooperative Union, Chairman NICM, Chennai, delivered the presidential address. she expressed her happiness at the fact that the , 2012- 14 batch MBA students had built a great brand Image of the NICM by winning many Inter – Collegiate Management events. She was also appreciative of the students who regularly cleaned the campus without any hesitation. She had a feeling of pleasure in saying that these students were role models of the NICM.

Mohan Kumar Mishra, Secretary NCCT was also present as the guest of honour. In his speech Mishra  highlighted that students should take a right decision at the right time. Getting MBA degree was not a destination, but a beginning of a journey. He said the role of education was not only a professional success, but also welfare of society.

Dr. P. Jagannathan, Director, NICM welcomed the gathering. The academic report was read by Dr. R. Gopalsamy, Deputy Director / MBA Programme Coordinator. The convocation pledge was read by the Director and followed by the graduands. Dr.Chandra Pal Singh Yadav conferred the MBA degree on 26 graduates. A vote of thanks was moved by Shri. I. Venkatesh, Faculty Member, NICM.

The Convocation Function was attended by MBA Graduates along with their parents, MBA 2nd Year students, and officials of cooperative department, faculty and staff of NICM.

The newly developed world class Buffet AC dining hall within the NICM campus, was inaugurated by Dr. Chandra Pal Singh Yadav in the presence of Smt. Amudha Arunachalam Chairman NICM and all other dignitaries. The new dining hall could accommodate more than 200 persons.
