NCCE trains Directors of UCBs and thrift & credit Societies

NCCE of National Cooperative Union of India organized a 3 day training programme recently in New Delhi, in collaboration with NAFCUB, in which about 47 participants from all over the country participated.

The training programme was aimed at up-gradation of knowledge and skills of the participants on Digital Banking & Cyber Security. Board members and managers of Urban Cooperative Banks & Thrift & Credit Cooperatives present in the programme are believed to have profited from this, claimed a press release from NCCE.

The aim of the training programme was to refresh and hone their leadership skills by educating them on various aspects of governance like cooperative ideology, with special emphasis on cyber-security and prevention of financial frauds in view of the digitalisation of the banking sector.

The programme was attended by 47 participants from all over the country. Inaugurating the programme Dr. V.K. Dubey, Director, NCCE said that the cooperative credit sector is has been practicing financial inclusiveness by financing small businesses and members of all strata of the society long before it became fashionable in rest of the country.

Yogesh Sharma, Director, NAFCUB thanked the participants for taking out time to attend the training programme and appreciated the role being played by NCUI through its education wing NCCE for imparting quality training to the leaders, members and employees of the cooperative sector.

The Chief Executive, NCUI N.Satyanarayana also met the participants on the last day of the programme and hoped that the cooperative banks will soon start digitalisation of their banking services like other nationalised and multi-national banks and face the technological challenges of the day.

The programme was well-received by all the participants who found the course content relevant and stressed that such programmes must be conducted for longer durations specifically on “Cyber-Security for the Banking Sector” which is the need of the hour.
