ICA (A-P) General Assembly would be different: Chandra Pal

NCUI as host has seized the chance of planning the international event- AGM of International Cooperative Alliance (Asia-Pacific) in 2016. The General Assembly of ICA (A-P) scheduled next year in N Delhi is going to be different. In fact it would prove to be the template for all future Assemblies, said NCUI President Chandra Pal Singh Yadav who is excited about the function.

We would showcase India, I mean not its physical attributes but its tradition of hospitality, he said. Staying at a five-star hotel and being fed by a robot-like staff is what we have been experiencing so far in all foreign jaunts. But India is different and we take care of our guests in a personalized manner, said Chandra Pal explaining his idea of playing host.

We intend to invite all the top cooperators of the country counting not less than 500 to 700 of them for the inaugural show. The event scheduled to take place in a five star- most likely in the Ashoka in Luyen’s Delhi would showcase the culture and magnificence of what is known as India- a country of proud legacies, NCUI President added.

Chandra Pal has already made a move to invite the Prime Minister with the help of Union Agricultural Minister Radha Mohan Singh as reported in these columns earlier.

Showcasing India is a major challenge as we wish to have such capsule programmes as to capture the colours of Indian culture. But Yoga is going to be the main attraction. NCUI is in the process of talking to different schools in the capital to draw school children for the event, said Dr Dinesh Chief Executive.

Preparations are afoot but the nitty-gritty is yet to be worked out said Dr Dinesh. The International Co-operative Alliance [ICA] came to Asia Pacific Region with the establishment of the Regional Office & Education Center for South-East Asia in 1960 .It was inaugurated by Jawaharlal Nehru, the first Prime Minister of India.
