Has NCCT transfer flouted court orders?

NCCT-the training arm of the apex cooperative body NCUI has recently effected a large-scale transfer of its faculty members in the name of what is known as choice posting. But several phone calls received by the desk of Indian Cooperative tell a different story.

Talking on condition of anonymity one of the affected faculty members said it was a “request transfer” only in name as the threat of punishment posting hung over our heads should anyone refuse to flout the orders.

But more than that, what has become a talking point is the transfer of those faculty members who were appointed in the era of controversial Paramjyoti what was later known as lecturer scam that drew the ministerial wrath after Indian Cooperative broke the story.

It related to the appointment of 40 lecturers by NCCT for their training units located in different parts of the country. The lecturers who were appointed and later removed after the incidents of large-scale  wrong-doing were reported had moved court for stay. Delhi High Court had stayed the order of NCUI thereby allowing about 30 appointees to rejoin.

Talking to Indiancooperative.com NCUI President Chandra Pal Singh said that” honouring High Court order we have sent massages to all the candidates to join office and NCUI is obliged to pay them salary till court completes its hearing”.

There are strict orders from the court that a status quo is to be maintained in their cases till the investigation is completed yet they were transferred, a source points out.

In fact, this transfer was basically meant for them only as out of 14 transfers 10 was made in their cases. Only four senior faculty members who have put in more than 17-18 years of services have been transferred in the name of choice posting, the source added.

The senior faculty members belong to Lucknow, Bhopal, Trivenduram and Pune. It is reliably learnt that these faculty members were forced to express their request in writing or else they were threatened with transfer to “inconvenient places”, said the source.

Meanwhile, repeated attempts to contact NCCT Secretary Mohan Mishra who is said to have finalized these transfers went unattended. His detractors, however, point out that in order to secure his extension due this coming September he is bending over backwards to please some political bosses.
