Future lies in dairy cooperative: Chandra Pal

The three day Coop Expo from 20 – 22 February, 2014, opened up in Pragati Maidan in Delhi on Thursday with many well established cooperative organisations putting up their stalls to show-case their products.

These organisations are – Andhra Pradesh Dairy Development Cooperative Federation, IFFCO-Tokyo Insurance, KRBHCO, NCDC, IFFCO, Buldana Urban Cooperative Credit Society, etc.

Dr. Chandra Pal Singh Yadav, President, NCUI said that the Dairy Vision for 2030 has to include cooperatives as an important component, as primary milk cooperatives societies in the rural areas have played an important role in enhancing milk production in the country.

He further said that dairy cooperatives can play an important role in employment generation in the rural areas in the times to come.

Navin Jindal, Member of Parliament speaking on the occasion of Dairy Vision-2030 Conference organised by Pixie Solutions Ltd. in New Delhi, at the time of inauguration of Coop Expo said that cooperatives can play an important role in dairy entrepreneurship which can lead to socio-economic transformation.

Dr. Dinesh, Chief Executive, NCUI speaking on the occasion said that due to good work of dairy cooperatives India has become the largest producer of milk in the world. He further said that successful cooperatives like Amul can boost up the image of dairy industry in the times to come.

The dairy entrepreneurs/experts from France, Holland, Sweden, etc. were present on the occasion. It was generally emphasized that issues like productivity of milk cattle, and providing financial and technological support to the dairy farmers will be important for the success of the dairy industry in the future.
