Speaking on the occasion of World Food Day celebrations organized by Association of Food Scientists and Technologists (Delhi Chapter) and NCUI last week N Satya Narayana, Chief Executive, NCUI said that the cooperative movement plays an important role in food security through tools like agricultural credit, fertilizers and dairy cooperatives, among others.

The event was attended by the members of AFSTI, students and scholars from all parts of the country. He also highlighted the important role of farmers in boosting agricultural production through the cooperative societies in the country.

Satya Narayana lavished praise on IFFCO and KRIBHCO for providing better fertilizers and inputs to the farmers mostly through cooperative societies. The distribution of fertilizers through cooperative societies is 36%, he gave the figure.

It’s a matter of great joy that these societies are planning to enter organic production for better access to the markets.

Satya Narayana underlined the important role of farmers in boosting agricultural production through cooperative societies in the country.

The CE NCUI also mentioned about the significant contributions of cooperatives in Green Revolution and White Revolution.
