Sunil dismisses Thakur’s complaint

Ashok Thakur has reacted strongly to a statement given by the newly elected vice-chairman of Nafed Sunil Kumar Singh to Indian Cooperative in which he claimed to have secured even Thakur’s vote. It is said many in the cooperative circle are amazed at the revelation.

Thakur said it is indeed true that I voted for him thinking he is a good cooperator. He had organized an impressive cooperative show in Patna and I voted for him in the name of cooperative; but see what he has done. Did he pay his gratitude by casting vote in my favour too? The answer is obviously “no”, added Thakur.

Readers would note that the recently concluded Nafed elections witnessed a lot of fire-works and Biscomaun Chairman Sunil Singh bagged highest number of votes (17). He was able to get votes outside his panel as well and one of such votes came from Ashok Thakur who was fighting the ruling clique.

Reacting sharply to Thakur’s words Sunil Singh said when it comes to choosing between Deelip Sanghani and Ashok Thakur I would always go for Sanghani. “Sanghani sahib is a respected cooperator from Gujarat and what of today, 20 years down the line also my choice would be Sanghani and Sanghani alone.

“Please convey this to Ashok Thakur that I indeed feel indebted to him for his vote, but in such situation my mind is clear”, he told this reporter. “Luckily for me this time even my leader Chandra Pal Singh was in support for Sanghani and the task became easy for me”, Sunil added.

Sunil counseled Thakur to first get his own house into order and examine why BJP men did not vote for him. He is misdirecting his anger towards me when so many BJP Directors including Ramakant Bhargava, Bhanvar Singh Sekhawat, Jagjit Singh Sagwan, BJP representatives from Haryana and Chhattisgarh did not vote for him.

It is not in my nature to go against the wishes of the group. I do not value caste-affiliation (incidentally both Thakur and Singh belong to Rajput clan) in such matters, retorted Sunil.

He also advised the Nafed govt nominee to get rid of his negativity. Thakur is a habitual dissenter so much so that he has sent a note of dissent even on the issue of revival package for Nafed, Sunil stated.
