Ram Iqbal Singh Chairman of Nacof said ”we should give standard seeds and fertilizer to the farmers. Nacof would only work in the interest of farmers, he added.”

NACOF sells seeds, bio-fertilizer, pulses, rice, chemical fertilizers, medicines, textiles etc. Singh told the delegates that ” business associates are not clients but an essential part of the federation. Without naming Nacof Chairman said with a tinge of sadness “the national level marketing cooperatives have a lamentable record of poor business and helping farmers is distant cry for them.”

Delegates from Gujarat, Jharkhand, Rajasthan and other states working in fields like fertilizer, pesticides  and many others participated in the meeting. The federation has branches at Hyderabad and Bangalore in Southern India.

Vivek a delegate representing Narmada Bio Chemical Fertilizer in Gujarat said ” instead of DAP we should use PROM (Phosphate rich organic manure), that has benefitted a large number of farmers in Gujarat”.

One of the delegates gave a presentation on Polyhouse Technology on the occasion. However, he expressed regret over the fact that Maharashtra is the only state that uses this technology.

S.K.Sharma, Ex-Director of NCDC who was also present said we are neither a government nor a private agency, we are an independent part of the country’s economy. Sharma reiterated the federation’s commitment to provide farmers with reliable seeds and fertilisers.
