RBI proposes Banking Ombudsman

RBI has proposed Banking ombudsman to address customer concern related to Primary Cooperative Banks. Any body who has problem with the bank or if his problem is not being entertained by the bank officials ,  can approach the Banking ombudsman for solution.

The process would be to file a written complaint first.Customer has to wait for one month for Bank response. But if it does not come, he may contact the Banking Ombudsman.

The ombudsman would deal with complaints related to receipts and payments, loans, deposit interest rates and charges levied, and ATM/credit card operations, among others.

The customer can approach the Ombudsman also if , the bank’s answer is not satisfactory for him.
