Kumar has ambitious plan for NAFFAC

Vinay Kumar-md-naffacVinay Kumar is not a new face. Having been in the apex body of sugar cooperatives (NFCSF) for more than a decade he has been entrusted with the job of scaling up the activities of National Film and Fine Arts Cooperative Federation (NAFFAC).

Located at the August Kranti Road in the NCUI Complex in Delhi, Kumar at NAFFAC ponders over files to lend prestige and glory to a relatively unknown cooperative federation.

In his earlier avatar Kumar was the MD of the National Federation of Cooperative Sugar Factories Ltd (NFCSF) where he was a constant face for every visitors for a long time.

But he sounded upbeat about his new assignment as well. Talking to Indian Cooperative correspondent Rohit Gupta ,Vinay Kumar sounded confident of making NAFFAC as great a hit as his former workplace NFCSF. Kumar said “National Film and Fine Arts Cooperative (NAFFAC) would be developed on the same lines as NFCSF.

IFFCO, NAFCUB, Fishcopfed and NCUI, are also the board of NAFFAC. It has also made several videos for various cooperative organizations as its job entails making videos on cooperatives showcasing their activities.

The NAFFAC also holds workshops and meetings to spread awareness among the people. The federation works as a production house.

Talking on the sidelines Vinay Kumar admitted that the NAFED scandals have affected the image of the cooperative movement.The latter is strong in Maharashtra and Gujarat because the state govts are contributing a lot to it. Income tax burden on cooperatives should be eased he underlined.
