Cooperative official’s murder rocks Parliament

The brutal murder of Karnataka govt auditor S.P.Mahantesh has rocked the nation’s Parliament. A CPM member raised it in the upper house and even suspected that the killing of the official might even have some connection with the defence ministry’s controversial Tatra Truck deal.

The revelation has added a wholly new dimension to Mr. Mahantesh’s murder.

Mr Mahantesh had made public a copy of the report on land allotment to BEML. It bears special mention that BEML is the company through which the Czech manufacturer supplies Tetra Trucks to India.

Members in the upper house of parliament expressed their anger over the fact that the Karnataka govt has over the last days singularly failed to protect the precious lives of several RTI activists and  whistle-blowers in the state.
