Bihar to set up Sahkar Haat

The state of Bihar is busy fighting the likes of Sunil Singh, former Biscomaun Chairmen on one hand and adding new dimensions to the cooperative movement in the state on the other.

Ramadhar Singh Cooperative Minister of Biharhas said that government would set up ‘JP Sahkaar Haat’ in the state capital modelled on Dilli Haat.

Earlier, in a bid to empower the female population in the state they have established all woman cooperative banks in Patna and Nalanda.

Ramadhar Singh said the all-woman cooperative banks symbolize women’s liberation in Bihar. According to the minister, Gaya and Vaishali would also soon get the woman cooperative banks.

Sources say the present government in Patna is leaving no stone unturned to develop and strengthen the cooperative movement with the female population in the leading role. Recently the state authorities held a Mahila  Sahkari  Sammelan  as a part of the centenary celebration of Bihar amidst controversy of assembling BJP women Cell volunteers in the garb of cooperators

Savitri Singh, an NCUI official on deputation to ICA Asia-Pacific participated as the chief guest.
