Haryana: Cooperative societies to have special number

Haryana has a vibrant and substantial cooperative sector. The state govt has decided to provide the sector with a technology that involves the most modern method especially the electronic governance. That is to say, the cooperative societies in Haryana will have the latest computerization enabling them to do things in a clear and honest way.

Haryana has adopted the Haryana Registration and Regulation of Societies Act. The latter provides for   each cooperative society having its own registration number so it could work as an insurance against any dishonest and fraudulent transactions.

Government sources say all cooperative societies shall have to acquire their special numbers within a stipulated period.

Sources add the new act will go a long way in making the cooperative sector clean and transparent as it lays down comprehensive and well defined guidelines for the cooperative organizations.

Students of the cooperative affairs are of the opinion that Haryana stands out as one of those states in the country that works overtime trying to make the cooperative sector a resounding success.
