News of the second largest fertilizer cooperative Kribhco making efforts to help people fight Corona pandemic along with fulfilling its commitment to supply fertilizer to farmers are grabbing media headlines.
Kribhco MD Rajan Chowdhary who is relatively more active on social media than in the past, has posted pics of Kribhco team members distributing masks and sanitizers while dealing with labours involved in loading and unloading of fertilizers bags.
“KRIBHCO employees distributing masks & sanitizer, also spreading awareness of social distancing and personal hygiene amongst labourers”, tweeted MD along with pictures of the event.
Interestingly, Kribhco is supplying its fertilizer bags at the doorstep of farmers as is claimed by a tweet from its marketing Director V S Sirohi. “Kribhco officials are supplying fertilizer to farmers at their doorstep by maintaining social distance in Trichy district of Tamil Nadu through Mobile vans in this difficult time and contributing their bit “, tweeted Sirohi.
Kribhco is also active in distributing masks, sanitizers and other protective gear across many centres in the country as was revealed by several WhatsApp messages sent by its AGM (PR) Sanjay Kumar Singh.
“We, the Kribhco officials at Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh made workers aware of the importance of social distancing and sanitisation during the rake handling operations and we also contributed Rs 2 crore to the PM Cares Fund to 
fight the Coronavirus”, Singh reminded the Indian Cooperative.
Sharing details about the activities being undertaken by Kribhco at the ground level, Sanjay Kumar Singh (Kribhco AGM-Public Relation and Marketing) said, “Fertilizer cooperative is taking all the safety measures to save their workers from the coronavirus. We are providing masks, sanitizers to the laborers engaged in loading and unloading of urea bags”.
“Agriculture and railway officials are also helping to maintain the safety measures. Kribhco officials spread awareness about social distancing and personal hygiene among laborers”, he added.
There are a number of WhatsApp posts by the KRIBHCO team which is coordinating the efforts. One such message reads “A Hazira urea rake at Bilashpur Chhattisgarh. Mr Rakesh FR and others creating awareness about social distancing and sanitisation among labour during rake handling operations.”

Along with its fight against the Virus, Kribhco was also greeted with good news when its Marketing Director informed that there had been an increase of 24.8% in imports of P&K fertilizers in 2019-20.
Quick to applaud the team, Kribhco MD Rajan Chowdhary tweeted “I congratulate the Marketing department of #KRIBHCO for 24.8% increase in imports of P&K fertilizers in 2019-20. #KRIBHCO is the largest importer of NPK and third largest importer of DAP during 2019-20.”
