Kribhco stands at No 6 globally; reveals World Co-op Monitor

In the list of World Cooperative Monitor report 2022 published by ICA on Thursday, the second largest fertilizer cooperative of India-Kribhco has been ranked at Sixth position in the list of sector rankings.

In the Agriculture and Food Industries section, Kribhco has been named on the sixth position. This ranking is based on the ratio of turnover over gross domestic product (GDP) per capita.

The Agriculture and Food Industries section includes all cooperatives that operate along the entire agricultural value chain, starting from the cultivation of agricultural products and livestock farming to the industrial processing of agricultural products and animals.

This sector includes both agricultural producers’ cooperatives and consortia of cooperatives (or similar arrangements) that carry out the processing and marketing of agricultural goods for their members.

Kribhco has done excellent in all fields of its operation and earned an ever-highest profit of Rs. 1493.26 crore during the Financial Year 2021-22. Its net worth has increased from Rs 3,557.37 crore in the FY 2020-21 to Rs. 4,643.10 crore as on March 31.

The society achieved sales of 44.00 Lakh MT fertilizers during 2021-22. The Society has achieved Urea sales of 34.58 Lakh MT.

Recently, Kribhco laid the foundation stone of the bio-ethanol plant at Kribhco Hazira in Surat, Gujarat. This project produces 825 crore liters of bio fuel from 2.5 lakh metric tons of maize.

It bears recalling that the International Cooperative Alliance (ICA) and the European Research Institute on Cooperative and Social Enterprises (Euricse) have presented the seventh annual World Cooperative Monitor report.

This publication reports on the world’s largest cooperatives and mutual organisations, providing rankings of the Top 300. The data collected for the 2022 edition of the World Cooperative Monitor is from the fiscal year 2020.
