Mehta discusses co-op affairs with Raman Singh

Sahakar Bharati newly elected President Mr Jyotindra Mehta was on a whirlwind tour of the state of Chhattisgarh where he participated in a number of cooperative functions as well as met state Chief Minister Raman Singh.

Giving details of his visit Mehta posted on his Face Book wall photographs of attending meeting of a Sahakar Bharati cooperative programme in Durg. He is seen lighting lamps along with several cooperators to kick off the function.

Mehta attended two functions of local Sahakar Bharati units- Raipur and Durg- where he urged his fellow cooperators to strengthen the movement and connect to the grassroots.

He also visited Durg District co-operative bank.

Mehta met CM Raman Singh and discussed the cooperative state of affairs in the state. Being an RSS arm Sahakar Bharati has enough clout to seek audience with any BJP Chief Minister, unlike other cooperative organizations.

The details of the talk with Raman Singh were not clear as Mehta’s phone was on flight mode and his aide Bharat Kapadia had no specific knowledge of the content of the discussions. The state of Chhattisgarh has in past started paddy-procurement through PACS- a successful experiment emulated by many states later.
