After Anant Kumar it was Radha Mohan Singh’s turn. The Union Agriculture Minister has congratulated the giant fertilizer Cooperative IFFCO on being adjudged numero uno status by a World Body, Co-operative Monitor.
In his letter shot to the IFFCO Managing Director Dr U S Awasthi, Shri Singh said “the entire nation is proud of IFFCO which has played an important role for a vast majority of people. You have played crucial role in the field of agriculture and related fields”.
Excited at the receipt of the congratulatory letter, a visible happy MD tweeted ”Received the appreciation letter from Honourable Agriculture Minister. It is a matter of deep satisfaction for IFFCO.”
In his letter Radha Mohan Singh praises Dr U S Awasthi. Singh writes “your efforts and dedication have been admirable. I am sure that with your efforts IFFCO would strengthen the cooperative movement in the country and would establish new records of excellence.
Radha Mohan concludes with the promise of cooperation on behalf of his Ministry and the government to the IFFCO.
The 2014 World Co-operative Monitor was officially released at the International Summit of Co-operatives on October 8th, 2014 which found IFFCO as the number one organization.
The third edition of the World Co-operative Monitor has revealed that the turnover of the largest 300 co-operatives in the report over the last 3 years has grown to reach 2.2 trillion USD in 2012.
