Dr U S Awasthi, MD of IFFCO who would be in the town today (7th of February) – his 38th destination in his ‘Farmers’ connect campaign”.

Hundreds of cooperators have already arrived in the city to meet IFFCO MD as also several of the cooperative bodies have synchronized their board meetings on the day so that they get a chance to meet Awasthi.

Cooperators connected to Biscomaun, Bihar State Co-op Bank, Land Development Bank, State Co-op Union and others are likely to have one on one meeting with the MD of a fertilizer co-operative which has stood by the farmers of the state through thick and thin, informed Prem Chand Munshi, IFFCO Director from Bihar.

Those who are part of IFFCO such as its Director Premchandra Munshi are pulling out all the stops to make it a success. And also those who are not directly connected to IFFCO such as Biscomaun Chairman and Kribhco Director Sunil Singh have sprung into action organizing things once his Patna visit was announced.

Sitting till late evening with the State Manager of IFFCO and Premchand Munshi in Patna a day prior to MD’s arrival Sunil Singh was busy giving final touches to the preparations. Biscomaun has also put up huge hoarding across the streets of the city welcoming Awasthi on the occasion of IFFCO’s Golden Jubilee celebrations.

As Sunil Singh puts it “politicians come and give empty lectures but here comes a man who supports Bihari farmers by his solid act of supplying them an important input-fertilizer; we are eager to receive him”.

Munshi, a humble man, meanwhile is putting in all efforts to welcome the MD. “We are regular witness to his dynamism in the Board meetings; his energy is unstoppable. It’s a matter of privilege to receive him on Bihari’ soil, said Munshi with a sparkle in his eyes.

“Awasthiji has special connection with Bihar as it was here in Rohtas that he served as CMD for the first time embarking on his glorious career later on”, Munshi said rummaging through history.

Munshi also said he has taken Biscomauan Chairman Sunil Singh’s assistance in the preparations for Dr Awasthi’s welcome. The MD is slated to address a mammoth gathering of farmers and cooperators in the famous Sri Krishna Memorail Hall which had witnessed JP’s historic call for total revolution in the country.

Since he would pass through Biscomaun Bhavan enroute to SK Memorial Hall we have put a huge gate near the majestic Biscomaun Bhavan to welcome him, said Sunil.” I have told you earlier and I repeat it again that if the country had about 10 CEOs like Awasthiji India would surge forward in growth and progress”, Sunil added passionately.

Indian Cooperative has gathered that the MD would be reaching Patna on 7th and he would interact with cooperators informally in the evening. Next day he would address a gathering in the S K Memorial. Later, he would go to Muzaffarpur and other places in Bihar.
