Noida: IFFCO hails PM’s Stand Up India initiative

Managing Director of the farmers’ cooperative IFFCO Dr U S Awasthi has lauded the Stand Up India initiative launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Noida on Tuesday. Awasthi felt it would go a long way in addressing the woes of marginalized groups such as women and weaker sections of society.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi was the first to book the e-rickshaw through the Ola App as the company launched its e-rickshaw category on its mobile app on Tuesday.

“Today the ‘Stand up India’ initiative will be launched. This initiative will promote entrepreneurship among women, SC & ST communities,” the Prime Minister has tweeted earlier.

Dr Awasthi followed Modi quickly at the heels and hailed him for this initiative. He tweeted” Congratulations #PM @narendramodi for launching #Stand Up India initiative in #Noida to promote entrepreneurship among women & underprivileged.”

A total of 5100 e-rickshaws were distributed, among which 151 women received the vehicles by the Prime Minister.

Prime Minister Modi launched the ‘Stand up India’ scheme and its web portal at Sector 62 in Uttar Pradesh’s Noida city. Bhartiya Micro Credit (BMC) under the Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojna scheme played a major role in this.

In addition, the recipients will also be covered under the Pradhan Matri Jan Dhan Yojna, Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Jivan Jyoti Yojana, Atal Pension Yojana schemes and other eight significant schemes.
