Displaying a strong unity India’s apex co-op body NCUI and fertilizer co-op major IFFCO joined hands to ink an MoU with Cooperative Union of Kyrgyzstan (CUK) to develop five model cooperatives in Kyrgyzstan.
While it was President Dr Chandra Pal Singh Yadav who represented NCUI, it was Dr U S Awasthi, MD and CEO who signed the MoU on IFFCO’s behalf. Ms Ainura Imanbekova, MD of Cooperative Union of Kyrgyzstan (CUK) was the signatory from Kyrgyzstan.
Bijender Singh and Tarun Bhargava were witnesses to the signing of MoU from the Indian side. CUK is apex federation of Cooperatives in Kyrgyzstan.
Sharing the news IFFCO MD wrote on twitter “Glad to share that today #IFFCO and @ncuicoop together signed an MoU with Cooperative Union of Kyrgyzstan, CUK to develop 5 Model #Cooperatives in #Kyrgyzstan and provide support to them. It’s a moment of pride for all of us in #India and at #IFFCO.”
The MoU states that NCUI, IFFCO and CUK will to cooperate with each other in exploring Cooperation and Collaboration
opportunities involving Cooperative Education, Training and Cooperative Development in both Kyrgyzstan and India.
To start with NCUI and IFFCO shall contribute to support initiation of a pilot project to adopt five (5) cooperatives and develop them as Model Cooperatives in Kyrgyzstan, preferably Agriculture Coops, is the purport of MoU.
Further, IFFCO in association with NCUI shall provide knowledge base on Soil testing, Bio Stimulants, Bio-fertilizers, Nano Fertilizers etc. NCUI and IFFCO will together help these cooperatives to adopt best practices, streamline cooperative policies based on cooperatives principles.
Back home, expressing his happiness over the development, NCUI CE Satyanarayan said “It would give us a chance to showcase our competence in capacity building and co-op training”.
