IFFCO Chairman B S Nakai and MD Dr U S Awasthi greeted Union Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu on his re-election to Rajya Sabha. Prabhu was elected unopposed to the Upper House from Andhra Pradesh.
Informing about the meeting MD tweeted “Happy to meet & felicitate @sureshpprabhu for his re-election to Rajya Sabha in presence of #BSNakai chairman #IFFCO.”
Prabhu was supported by the NDA partner TDP. The election which took place on June 11 filled up four vacancies from AP. With a combined strength of 108 in the 176-member AP Assembly, the ruling TDP-BJP had an upper hand and Prabhu romped home effortlessly.
A cooperator through and through Prabhu never says “no” to any invitation from the cooperative sector. Last year Prabhu delivered the 18th Vaikunth Bhai Mehta Memorial Lecture organised by National Cooperative Union of India. He also assured assembled cooperators of Prime Minister’s unqualified support to the cooperative sector.
“If you want to pay tributes to Shri Vaikunth Bhai Mehta you will have to work together and make the cooperative movement a success”, he had said.
With IFFCO he enjoys a special relationship. This year in February on the occasion the 5th Shrilal Shukla Smiriti IFFCO Sahitya Samman Award, Suresh Prabhu was the Chief Guest.
