LG Sinha goes gaga over Nano Urea; exhorts farmers to try it

Inaugurating the farmers’ convention organized by the cooperative titan IFFCO in Jammu, LG Manoj Sinha said that liquid Nano Urea reduces pollution and increases crop production. He cited the example of two villages– Akalpur in Jammu and Y K Pora in Kashmir – as IFFCO Nano Fertiliser Model Villages.

Speaking further the LG said “The biggest challenge before us today is to make fertilizers more sustainable for the future & ensure adequate nutrition. Nano Urea enhances productivity, quality, reduces CO2 emission & increases farmer’s profitability.”

The event saw participation of more that 1000 farmers drawn from different parts of the state. IFFCO MD Dr U S Awasthi had travelled from Delhi to welcome the Chief Guest LG Manoj Sinha, his fellow BHU alumnus.

Giving details of the event LG Sinha tweeted “I addressed the Farmer’s Conference on Promotion of Nano Urea and Distribution of Spray Pumps to farmers for agricultural usage in the area. I shared my views on the importance and benefit of IFFCO NanoUrea and other NanoTechnology products by IFFCO for the farmers.”

Sinha said liquid Nano Urea is making a positive impact in J&K’s agriculture sector and IFFCO’s initiatives like training on the use of Nano Urea, battery-operated sprayers and spray-drones and declaring villages – Akalpur in Jammu and Y K Pora in Kashmir – as IFFCO Nano Fertiliser Model Villages will surely complement the government’s efforts in protecting and improving the fertility of our agricultural fields, he noted.

Sinha stressed that farmers and officials should work together and strengthen the collaboration in order to put the agri-economy on a new trajectory of growth and better implementation of reforms.

Reacting to the success of the event IFFCO MD Dr Awasthi tweeted “Today, I welcomed and felicitated Hon’ble LG, J&K(UT) on his arrival as Chief Guest to Farmer’s Conference on Promotion of Nano Urea and Distribution of Spray Pumps to farmers for agricultural usage in a program organised at Jammu by #IFFCO.”

It bears recalling that IFFCO is busy popularizing Nano urea across states by holding farmers’ meets where several IFFCO officials including the MD and the Marketing Director participate.

In recent times its efforts gained momentum when Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself talked highly about the efficacy of Nano Urea. Several Ministers and Governors have also joined in IFFCO’s efforts to popularize Nano Urea, which is said to be futuristic.

Sources add that IFFCO is also almost ready with Nano DAP and may launch the same by the next year.
