Underling a remarkable simultaneity on the occasion of 73rd Independence Day, while PM Modi vowed to double farmers’ income by 2022 from the ramparts of the Red Fort, IFFCO reduced the rates of its complex fertilisers by Rs 50 per bag for their benefits.
The new rate cut will be applicable from 15th August. IFFCO’s officials said, this announcement will surely help in fulfilling PM Narendra Modi’s dream of doubling the farmers’ income by 2022 by reducing the agri input cost.
The new price of DAP (di-ammonium phosphate) has been reduced to Rs 1,250 per bag (of 50 kg) from Rs 1,300 earlier. Similarly, the rate of NPK I has come down to Rs 1,200 from Rs 1,250 per bag, The NPK II rate will now be Rs 1,210 from Rs 1,260 per bag. The rate of NP has been slashed to Rs 950 per bag from Rs 1,000.
The new rates were announced by IFFCO’s MD Dr. U S Awasthi during the Flag hoisting ceremony at IFFCO’s Tamil Nadu State office in Chennai on Thursday.
In his tweet Awasthi wrote, “On 73rd #Independence Day, for benefit of farmers,I am glad to announce further reduction by Rs 50/bag in the prices of #DAP,#NPK Complex #Fertilisers all over #India. Reducing input agri cost to farmers & in line with PM’s @narendramodi plan of doubling the farmers income by 2022.”
Earlier in the morning-before the MD announcement of rate cut, the newly elected Director of IFFCO from Tamil Nadu, Ovr Ramachandran put up a photograph of MD and others on FaceBook welcoming them to Chennai.
Later announcing the news of rate cut, its Media Head Harshendra Vardhan reminded to media that IFFCO is providing its services to more than 5 crore farmers with more than 35000 cooperative societies across the country from Leh-Ladakh to the backwaters of Kerala and from Kutch to Arunachal Pradesh.
“It is not the first time that IFFCO has given relief to the farmers across the country. From time to time, the cooperative organization has slashed the price of Urea and non-urea fertilisers for the benefit of the farmers”, claimed a top official of the co-op titan.
Last month also, IFFCO had reduced the retail price of DAP by about 7.1 percent, or Rs 100 per 50 Kg bag.
