The cooperative titan IFFCO is all set to induct five new Board members (Directors) against the casual vacancies partly arising out of the untimely demise of two members and partly due to change of officers in three marketing federations of states.

It bears recall that IFFCO lost two of its worthy family members in Chairman BS Nakai and Pramod Kumar Singh from Uttrakhand. IFFCO Director Raj Kumar Tripathy also succumbed to Covid but since he was a co-opted member, only two casual vacancies have arisen, as of now.

Besides, there is the change of govt as well as taking over by new officers (mostly IAS) in the state marketing co-operative federations, which have necessitated the holding of a fresh election, according to the latest circular from the office of the Central Registrar.

Following the new directive from the ministry, the IFFCO board has appointed Sanjay Jha, Assistant Registrar of co-ops in the Delhi govt to oversee the election process as the Returning Officer. In a notice issued by the RO, the nomination process would start from 22nd March.

The last date for issuing the blank nomination forms is 23rd March 2022. The blank nominations Forms (Form ED/Form EMF) at IFFCO Head Office, will be issued by Shri H.P. Gemini, Retd. (Dy Director Cooperation).

It is pertinent to mention here that Form ED will be issued to candidates contesting the election for the position of 2 Directors from Constituency No.1 & XI and Form EMF to candidates desirous to contest from Constituency No XIV.

Receipt of Nomination Forms: March 22, 2022, to March 23, 2022, at IFFCO Sadan C-1, District Centre Saket New Delhi-110017. On behalf of the Returning Officer, nomination papers at Head Office will be received by Shri H.P. Gemini, Retd. (Dy. Director Cooperation).

The nomination papers shall be presented in person le. by the candidate himself/herself or by his/her proposer or seconder, to Sh. H.P. Gemini, so as to positively reach him by 4.00 PM, on March 23, 2022.

Scrutiny would be at 9:00 AM on March 24, 2022, in the “Election Office functioning in Committee Room at 2nd Floor of IFFCO Sadan. Display of valid nominations after scrutiny would be made at 10.00 AM on March 24, 2022 at IFFCO’s Head Office.

Receipt of objections at IFFCO Sadan would be possible till 11.00 AM on March 24, 2022, and a Display of valid nominations would be made at 1:00 PM on March 24, 2022. Withdrawal of candidature could be done up to 3.00 PM and a Display of the final list of candidates would be made at 3.30 PM on March 24, 2022.

Meeting for Elections of Directors would begin at 9.30 am on March 25 and the voting to fill in casual vacancies of Board Directors would go from 10.00 am to 11.30 am on March 25, 2022, at IFFCO Sadan.

Counting of Votes & Declaration of Results would be from 11.45 am to 12.30 am. The election of Vice-Chairman would be at 12.45 PM on the same day.
