IFFCO: Sanghani meets Awasthi & Kumar

Senior cooperator and GUJCOMASOL Chairman Dileepbhai Sanghani was in Delhi last week meeting top IFFCO officials including Managing Director Dr U S Awasthi at its headquarters in IFFCO Sadan. It was shortage of urea in Gujarat which brought me to IFFCO, said Sanghani soon after the meeting.

“Since he is a senior cooperator we also used the occasion to felicitate him”, said IFFCO Marketing Director Yogendra Kumar who tweeted about the meeting with a catchy photograph. Kumar wrote “Welcome and honor of eminent cooperator and great farmer’s leader Mr Dileep_Sanghani ji”.

Talking to Indian Cooperative Sanghani said “I met IFFCO Managing Director Dr U S Awasthi and Marketing Director Yogendra Kumar on the issue of lack of urea for farmers in Gujarat. They were very positive and assured me of meeting the urea needs of Gujarat farmers,” he said.

IFFCO’s Marketing Director Kumar attended to the issues raised by Sanghani without losing time. “Rakes were dispatched to the points in Mehsana and other areas where Sanghani felt a crisis may be looming on the horizon for want of urea”, said Kumar.

It is just a distribution crisis and no actual emergency, Kumar later explained. It is true that there have been somewhat lesser imports this year but IFFCO’s plants are doing very well in terms of production, he added.

Besides the urea, Sanghani and IFFCO officials also discussed issues concerning the co-operative movement. Sanghani’s meeting with Kumar was planned but he had an impromptu meeting with the IFFCO MD. Awasthi was out of office for a meeting but he got here in the neck of the time and the two leaders could meet, said Kumar.

“Being the Chairman of GUJCOMASOL we look forward to cooperation with him”, said Kumar. Sanghani has also been invited as Special guest in the next IFFCO Board meeting scheduled for January 18, informed Kumar.

The IFFCO Board meeting generally has a representative from GUJCOMASOL and with the ouster of N P Patel, this time the management decided to invite Sanghani. “It is very much within the power of the Board to call anybody as special invitee”, said Kumar.
