IFFCO pitches for rainwater-harvesting

Welcoming the onset of the monsoon, IFFCO MD laid emphasis on harvesting the rain water. Dr U S Awasthi says that IFFCO is ahead in this at its various plant locations.

Dr. U S Awasthi tweeted” Let’s store #rain water this #monsoon 2 raise water table. #IFFCO harvesting #RainWater at its all plants-offices. @PMOIndia @RadhamohanBJP”.

The falling water table and a specter of global water-crisis in future have activated many agencies and individuals to take up the issue of rain-harvesting seriously.

Rainwater harvesting is a technique used for collecting, storing, and using rainwater for landscape irrigation and other uses. The rainwater is collected from various hard surfaces such as roof tops and other types of manmade above ground hard surfaces.

Commonly used systems are constructed of three principal components; namely, the catchment area, the collection device, and the conveyance system.
