The largest fertiliser cooperative IFFCO has cautioned the public to be aware of several fake firms offering IFFCO’s dealerships or franchises. Responding to a plethora of such offers on social media and the internet, co-op titan has come out with an official statement on the issue.
IFFCO has advised the general public to be more vigilant and not to fall prey to such misleading advertisements appearing on the Internet and other Social Media Platform.
The official statement from IFFCO was released on Thursday which was signed by Nakul Pathak, Executive Director (HR). It reads, “It has come to our notice that some unscrupulous elements actively operating in various parts of the Country, in the name and style of Fertilizers Frenchie ( Website www.fertilizerfrenchies.com) on Internet and other Social Media Platforms and falsely claiming to be a Branch of IFFCO (Indian Farmers Fertiliser Cooperative Ltd.) are dishonesty and fraudulently offering fertiliser dealership and /or franchise to General Public.”
“They are seeking applications from unsuspecting and gullible General Public, and especially trying to lure unemployed youth”, the statement read.
Nakul Pathak says “In the guise of giving fertilizer dealerships / franchises, they are collecting huge amounts from susceptible General Public as Licence fee, Deposit and booking for supply of fertilizers etc.”.
In his statement Pathak says, “IFFCO has no connection, whatsoever, with such persons/ entities. They are committing fraud and deceiving General Public by mischievously using IFFCO’s name.”
“Any person / entity dealing with them shall be doing so at their own risk and cost. IFFCO shall have no responsibility. Meanwhile IFFCO is taking legal action against such entities”, it concludes.
It bears recall that big brands of cooperatives which have earned the goodwill of people by their above-board acts over a period of time, often fall prey to such unscrupulous elements. Earlier, Amul also circulated warnings asking people to be wary of such elements.
