IFFCO begins search for worthy cooperators

IFFCO Managing Director Dr U S Awasthi has written letters to all the state cooperative unions seeking recommendations of names of worthy cooperators for its prestigious Sahakarita Ratna and Sahakarita Bandhu Awards for the year 2014-15.

The letter reads “you are kindly aware that IFFCO has instituted two awards namely, IFFCO Sahakarita Ratna & Sahakarita Bandhu Awards to be conferred on individual eminent cooperators who have rendered selfless service in the furtherance and development of the cooperative movement.

These awards are conferred on annual basis and carry an amount of Rs five lakh each along with a citation. These awards are generally presented in a function convened at New Delhi on the occasion of the Jawaharlal Nehru Memorial IFFCO Lecture.

The letter also stipulates the eligibility criteria to be followed while considering and recommending the nominations for the awards such as the person should be well known in the coop movement, should have personal contribution to the development of the agriculture sector in cooperative, should command good respect and be active at the grassroots level, among other things.

“It is requested that you may kindly recommend the names of two cooperators, for each award for the year 2014-15 and send their particulars and detailed bio-data to the undersigned so as to reach on or before August 12, 2015”, the letter reads.

Besides State Cooperative unions, the letter has also been forwarded to NCUI President and Directors of IFFCO to suggest suitable nominations.
