IFFCO: Awasthi’s Yatra takes him to land of Tagore

After meeting the farmers of Andhra Pradesh, IFFCO Managing Director Dr U S Awasthi undertook his ”connect to farmers” campaign in the land of Vivekanand and Rabindra Nath Tagore. He visited Kalyani and Burdwan- the two cities of the state of West Bengal.

During his tour to Burdwan, Awasthi visited a cooperative society namely Haral Bhupendra Bani Mandir S.K.U.S where people welcomed him with the traditional music and dance accompanied by Dhol and Nagada.

While inaugurating a cooperative exhibition, he said health is a major issue in the countryside especially for women and IFFCO is organizing special health checkup camps during his meetings with farmers.

Awasthi wrote on his twitter wall that “Health is major issue of #rural #India & specifically for women. #IFFCO organising spl health checkup camps in all #50yearsofIFFCO programs”.

On this occasion a separate stall had been set up to educate farmers about the benefits of cashless economy – a top priority for IFFCO MD. Education camps for #farmers for #Cashless Economy & card use for their #agri purchases & other exhibition stalls in #Burdwan #50yearsofIFFCO, Awasthi tweeted.

In Kalyani Awasthi hoisted a cooperative flag and greatly enjoyed little artists singing a welcome song in his honor in Robindra Sangeet. Meetings with #farmers & #cooperators in #Kalyani #WestBengal #50yearsofIFFCO, Awasthi wrote on twitter.

During his trip, he also felicitated farmers and cooperators for their outstanding performance in the growth of the cooperative sector and farming.
