IFFCO: Awasthi lays foundation of the biggest Nano Plant in Odisha

IFFCO Managing Director Dr U S Awasthi laid the foundation stone of the biggest Nano Fertilizer Project at its Paradeep Unit located in Odisha in the presence of Unit Head Kirit Kumar J Patel and other officials.

At present, Awasthi is on a Paradeep tour and back-to-back inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of several new projects. He laid the foundation stone of a new Sulphuric Acid Plant III at the said plant.

Awasthi also inaugurated the new Oxygen Unit at IFFCO Paradeep Plant dedicated to the people of Odisha to mitigate the COVID-19 pandemic. The move will help in fulfilling the need for medical oxygen in the area. He also inaugurated a new Floating Solar Power System.

During his ongoing tour, he took stock of the situation of several projects and interacted with the engineers and employees of the unit about the functioning and operations. Awasthi reviewed each section of the plant and checked the bagging unit of DAP fertilizer.

The IFFCO MD also interacted with the women farmers of the self-help group at Indian Farm Forestry Development Cooperative Limited (IFFDC) Centre and saw the handmade artwork created by them.

IFFCO’s foray into the Nanotechnology has been a front-runner for the Fertilizer sector this past year. IFFCO Nano Urea had a positive impact on the Agri-food Sector minimizing problems on environment, human health, thus improving food security & productivity.

“IFFCO Nano Urea Liquid received brilliant response from the Farmers and Stakeholders around the country. This was all possible due to the hard work and endeavor of IFFCO’s R&D team at IFFCO Nano Biotechnology Research Centre (NBRC) at our Kalol plant, Scientists/agro-Scientists, Engineers and the Marketing Team”, stated Awasthi.

It is worth mentioning that the Field Trials of other Nanotechnology based products such as Nano DAP are also in progress across the country. Meanwhile, IFFCO is working towards increasing the production of Nano Urea & other Nano Products. Nano Fertilizer Project at its Paradeep Unit located in Odisha is a move in this direction.
