IFFCO Managing Director Dr U S Awasthi resumed his Kisan Yatra and visited Guwahati- the capital of Assam. It was his 55th destination on the occasion of Golden Jubilee.
Soon after his connect farmers’ campaign early March in Dehradun Awasthi had left for UAE to attend the Board meeting. He began his Yatra focusing his attention on the north-eastern states.
IFFCO has been working consistently to ignite a strong co-op movement in the north eastern states with the officials of its cooperative development department visiting these states in recent past to lay the groundwork.
“We helped develop more than 15 to 20 women co-ops in the region. On the instruction of MD Saheb we held a series of meetings in several cities of North-East; the response so far has been phenomenal”, said one of the officials of the visiting team.

As of now, MD is going to have meetings with farmers in Assam and Meghalaya but later on in April he would venture out even in remotest parts of the north-east, said a member of Awasthi’s team.
In Guwahati -at daybreak, Dr Awasthi visited Kamakhya Temple famous for its history and energy among the people. He sought blessings of Ma Kamakhya for the entire IFFCO family.
During his tour he alos posted several photographs capturing the glimpse of the day on his twitter wall and wrote “Today visited the temple of Goddess Kamakhya and prayed for the entire IFFCO Family.
