Holding the hands of Mr Satpal-the senior most cooperator IFFCO MD Dr U S Awasthi asked the audience to hail him and seek his blessings. Shri Satpal is 94 years old and had been its Director in the past.
“Awasthiji had to wait for a long time for joining IFFCO; but he displayed extra-ordinary patience”, said Satpal speaking on the occasion. Satpal’s gist of speech revolved around highlighting the positive attitude of the MD. Awasthi always said ‘accepted..accepted“ to whatever ideas we suggested during those days, he said in a dramatic tone.
Another speaker from UP Ankit Parihar said even if the people in political power do not appreciate our MD the way they should, he rules the heart of us million farmers.
Several delegates spoke on the occasion lauding the role being played by MD and his team. They wished him a long life so that the organization would keep growing.
Some of the delegates turned emotional and spoke of personal gestures of MD in cases of medical emergencies. “He came to hospital to see Haji sahib after his open heart surgery”, said a delegate Jawahar from J&K.
Sunil Khatri from Delhi thanked the IFFCO management for reducing prices of fertilizer. Ramachandran from Coimbtore (TN) said since pesticides are used widely in south India more and more MC products should be made
Other speakers included Sadhana from Nashik, Manjeet Singh from Punjab, Narayan Lal Sharma from Rajasthan, Shashi Kant Dwivedi from Chhattisgarh, Archana Mishra from Sitapur and others.
Suggestions included better tracking of Sankatharan claims, distinction between yellow bag and others, advocacy of bio-fertilizer, setting up of IFFCO-MC office in each district, etc.
