Led by IFFCO Chairman Balvinder Singh Nakai, the team of fertilizer co-operative titan met VHP Chief and contributed Rs 2.51 Crore for the construction of Ram temple at Shri Ram Janambhoomi at Ayodya on Wednesday.
Those from IFFCO who accompanied the Chairman included Vice-Chairman Dileep Singhani, MD Dr U S Awasthi, Jt. MD Rakesh Kapur, Marketing Director Yogendra Kumar.
They handed over a cheque to Alok Kumar, International Working President, VHP, Jatin (Prant Pracharak, Head Delhi RSS), Kulbhushan (Prant Sanghchalak, Delhi RSS), Mahesh Bhaghchanka (Abhiyan Pracharak, RSS) and Nishikant Dubey (MP-Godda, Jharkhand).
Soon after handing over the cheque, the IFFCO MD wrote, “Contributed Rs 2.51 crore for the construction of the temple of Maryada Purushottam Lord Shri Ram Ji in Ayodhya today. IFFCO Chairman, Vice-Chairman, Managing Director, Board of Directors and others were present”.
Besides, IFFCO MD Awasthi also donated personally Rs 1.51 Lakh for the Shri Ram Temple Construction. It bears recall that Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi did the bhoomi pujan for construction of Shri Ram Janambhoomi Temple on 5 August 2020.
Giving details of its activities IFFCO press release said the co-op giant has undertaken many tasks for the betterment of farmers and rural India as a whole. Last year in order to fight against the Corona pandemic IFFCO contributed Rs 25 Crores to PM CARES Fund.
In addition to this, IFFCO also organized nation-wide IFFCO fights Corona and Break the Corona Chain Campaigns. To enable the needy to survive the chilling winters, IFFCO launched the blanket distribution campaign.
For the construction of the grand Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, the whole nation is donating funds. The mass contact and contribution campaign for the construction of the temple will go on for the next two weeks and will end on February 27. The drive began on January 15.
IFFCO also undertakes activities to boost socio-economic development of farmers like supply of fodder in drought prone areas, veterinary check-up and distribution of medicines, Health camps, clean drinking water facilitation, watershed development and financial assistance to farmers’ children for access to schooling.
Recently, IFFCO has ranked first among 300 large cooperatives of the world in a list provided by World Cooperative Monitor.
