ICA & ICAO elections: IFFCO’s Tarun turns globe-trotter wooing voters

As the election dates for ICA and ICAO draw closer, the Cooperative Relations man at IFFCO, Tarun Bhargava is on the move these days. Tasked with the job of ensuring success both for Dileep Sanghani and Aditya Yadav, Tarun is touring the world seeking support for Indian candidates.

Sanghani is contesting for the Presidentship of ICAO, a sectoral organization of the International Co-operative Alliance. The election is scheduled for June 17th. Aditya Yadav, an IFFCO’s Board member is defending his board position at the global ICA Board, election for which is scheduled for June 20th.

After his successful Brazilian visit, Tarun again left for Latin America’s Punta Cana along with the outgoing ICA Board member Aditya Yadav. The two had a string of meetings with co-operators as they tried to impress upon them the superiority of Indian candidates.

Punta Cana is a town in the easternmost region of the Dominican Republic. It is a popular tourist destination in Latin America, with more visitors than any other city in the Caribbean region.

“Everyone was pleased to meet Aditya Yadav, ICA Global Board member from India at Punta Cana! Awesome love and affection from delegates from the Ecuador Dominican Republic Columbia Puerto Rico Mexico! Thank You so much @ASCOOP!”, wrote Bhargava on his Facebook wall.

He rested just for a day in Delhi after the visit to the American region and left for Europe to Poland, Norway, and other countries the next day to meet co-operators soliciting their support for IFFCO (Indian) candidates.

Many thanks to the President of NCC Grodsky in Warsaw, Poland for his valuable time and meetings in his office with the President of Ukraine Coops! Fruitful sharing of Ideas to improve ICAO and strengthen its working in coming days, summed up Tarun after his meeting.

While in India he along with senior IFFCO officials including Manish Gupta received the NACF delegation from South Korea at the IFFCO headquarters and discussed the upcoming ICAO elections in Spain!

In Norway, Tarun had an engaging meeting with the co-operators of NAC. He also discussed in detail the merit of Nano urea, a unique product even for Europe. Talking to Indian Cooperative on the phone from Oslo, Tarun said people over here are excited about the Nano idea.

Overwhelmed with the response of co-operators abroad, Tarun turned emotional and said “Heartfelt thanks to Dr. U S Awasthi who has made IFFCO a Global Trusted and Respected Entity. Privilege to be part of the World Cooperative Family.

Tarun’s global tours do not stop him from campaigning for his candidates on social media as he wrote “We present Shri Dileep Sanghani, Hon’ble Chairman IFFCO and President NCUI – INDIA: Vote for Him to be next President of International Cooperative Agricultural Organization (ICAO).”
