What a man was Parrikar! Cooperators stunned

The entire country and with it the entire cooperative fraternity were aghast as soon as the news of demise of Manohar Parrikar, Chief Minister of Goa came Sunday evening. It is an irreparable loss, cried cooperators.

Leading the pack IFFCO MD Dr U S Awasthi wrote “Deeply saddened by the untimely demise of Shri #ManoharParrikar, CM of Goa. Country has lost a very good & industrious administrator & politician. The man who made his mark with his simplicity and intellect. My sincere condolences to his family. May God rest his soul in Peace!”

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said these touching words “India will be eternally grateful to Shri Manohar Parrikar for his tenure as our Defence Minister. When he was RM, India witnessed a series of decisions that enhanced India’s security capacities, boosted indigenous defence production and bettered the lives of ex-servicemen.”

Other cooperators did not lag behind in condoling the death of a man known for his honesty. Chandra Pal Singh Yadav, NCUI President expressed his shock and GCMMF MD R S Sodhi described Parrikar’s demise as an irreparable loss to clean politics.

Cosmos Bank Chairman Milind Kale said, “Exceptional undisputed determined political leader. Hindustan has lost its first surgical strike surgeon”.

Vishweswar Cooperative Bank CEO Satish Gandhe said, “Today we have lost a beloved son of Bharat Mata. He is the rare example of simplicity coupled with great humanity. I had an opportunity to meet him personally at his residence in Goa in connection with the activities of Sahakar Vardhini. We will never forget those moments in my life. May his soul rest in peace”.

Karnataka State Souharda Federal Cooperative Managing Director Sharangouda Patil said, “Extremely sad news. True Karmayogi”.

Fishcopfed MD B.K.Mishra said, “My heartfelt condolences to one of the greatest leaders of our time who was so sincere, honest and dedicated to work till the last day of his life. His qualities need to be emulated by one and all”.

Jamia Cooperative Bank CEO M.Q.H.Beg said, “My heartfelt condolences to a man who is well known for his work towards the country. Ministers like him are hard to find these days. By profession I am also a civil engineer and I could connect on the technical approach he took. May his soul Rest in Peace”.

Bassein Catholic Cooperative Bank Vice-Chairman Yuri Gonslaves said, “I think Parrikar was most intelligent, highly dedicated, very pragmatic, totally honest, extremely simple leader who ever lived. He was the best among present day Politicians”.

BJP Delhi Cooperative Cell Convener Ashok Kumar Dabas wrote, deeply hurt at the demise of Shri Manohar Parrikar Ji. May the Almighty lay to rest the departed noble soul in eternal Peace and give Strength to the grieved family to bear this irreparable loss? The Nation has lost a Great Leader”.

Mumbai based Model Cooperative Bank CEO William L D’souza said, “My heartfelt condolences to the bereaved members of his family and the people of Goa. He was one of the honest CMs of Goa & will be missed by all. May his soul R.I.P.

Apna Sahakari Bank former CEO P Kondurkar said, “He was most respected honorable citizen of our Bharat. Honest, simple, he was living like common man with intention to serve the country without any expectations. Hon Prime Minister Modi lost precious Diamond of the country. Let his soul rest in peace”.

NKGSB Bank CIO Ravikaran Manikar said, “Sad news. He was a very honest, capable and down to earth politician. It’s a big loss to our country. We rarely get such persons in politics. May his soul rest in peace”.

Indraprastha Sehkari Bank CEO Rajeev Gupta said, “May God give strength and support to the bereaved family at this saddest hour. We have lost a humble, simple, trusted, valued and hardworking leader of India”.

One of the cooperators from Maharashtra, Paradip Kadam wrote, “Mr. Parrikar was very great leader. Down to earth. He was one of the leaders India needed most. In now days politics such leader is very difficult to find. Ishwar unki atma ko shanti de asi prarthna karata hu”.

Manohar Parrikar (13 December 1955 – 17 March 2019) was the Chief Minister of Goa from 14 March 2017 till his death. Previously he was Chief Minister of Goa from 2000 to 2005 and from 2012 to 2014.

Parrikar proposed the name of Narendra Modi as the prime ministerial candidate before the 2013 BJP parliamentary elections convention in Goa.

He died from pancreatic cancer on 17 March 2019.
