VAMNICOM trains Army Officers in Agribusiness ecosystem

VAMNICOM the country’s leading institute of cooperative management Pune is conducting a 2 month training program on “Innovations and Agribusiness Management for Junior Commissioned officers/other ranks officers in Indian Army/Navy and Air Force” from 25th September, 2023 to 17th November, 2023.

It is altogether 8 weeks, five weeks classroom sessions by faculty members of the Institute, field practitioners, industry professionals with hands-on experience, etc. and three weeks live projects by engaging participants with agribusiness various companies/ start-ups.

The aim of the training program is to prepare the participants to know in brief about different opportunities in the Agribusiness ecosystem and set up their own enterprises in individual, partnership, collective or in cooperative forms.

35 participants (22 Army, 3 Navy and 10 Air force) have enrolled for the training program in the financial year 2023 from Maharashtra, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, Tamilnadu, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Uttarakhand, Bihar, and Punjab.

Dr. Hema Yadav, in her introductory speech talked about the role of collectives, cooperatives and how institutional building through cooperatives by Defense personnel can energize and channelize new avenues in Agribusiness Management through its inbuilt innovation moves of discipline, integrity and motivation.

Speaking on this occasion, ADG, Brig Rohit Mehta, DGR, Southern Command, Pune suggested trainees should try to gain maximum benefits of technical knowhow from the training program and start their own avenues.

Dr. A.K. Asthana, Associate Professor, VAMNICOM, Dr. Mahesh Kadam, Training Program Coordinator and Dr. Aditya, Research Officer put in their efforts to make the inaugural function a success.
