In a major push to strengthen grassroots agriculture and deepen the connection between policymakers and farmers, the Uttar Pradesh government on Friday successfully organized the “Kheti Ki Baat, Khet Par” programme in Daulatpur village.
The event saw strong participation from key leadership including Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, NCUI-IFFCO Chairman Dileep Sanghani, State Agriculture Minister Surya Pratap Shahi, and other senior officials and distinguished farmers.
Addressing hundreds of farmers and agricultural stakeholders, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath emphasized the vital link between soil health and the sustainability of the agricultural sector. Highlighting the importance of the earth’s wellbeing, he said a healthy soil is essential for ensuring food security and improving rural livelihoods.
He pointed out that farmers should receive timely access to quality seeds, fertilizers, irrigation, and scientific support to increase productivity and reduce input costs, principles aligned with the national vision of natural farming and sustainable agriculture.

Staged as an interactive field programme rather than a typical auditorium address, the Chief Minister detailed Uttar Pradesh’s significant gains in agricultural growth. Referring to recent state data, he noted that UP’s agricultural growth surged to 17.7%, a remarkable increase from 8.6% before 2017, demonstrating strong results from state-led initiatives aimed at modernizing agriculture and strengthening farmers’ incomes.
The Chief Minister also inaugurated Kisan Pathshala 8.0, part of the Progressive Farmers’ Conference, designed to educate farmers on the latest sustainable farming practices including multi-crop cultivation, natural farming methods, and the adoption of technological innovations such as soil testing and drone usage. He stressed that these innovations are critical for building resilience amid climate variability and ensuring long-term gains for farmers.
Among the dignitaries, Dileep Sanghani, Chairman of NCUI and IFFCO, highlighted the cooperative sector’s commitment to supporting farmer welfare and sustainability. He underlined the role of cooperative institutions like IFFCO in ensuring timely availability of quality inputs and strengthening rural supply chains. His presence symbolized growing collaboration between government programmes and cooperative networks to deliver tangible benefits at the grassroots level.
Agriculture Minister Surya Pratap Shahi and other senior officials, including Sardar Baldev Singh Aukhal, Satish Sharma, Suresh Rahi, IFFCO’s Marketing Director Yogendra Kumar, and State Marketing Manager Yatendra Kumar, engaged with farmers and addressed their queries. The programme also honored progressive farmers such as Padma awardee Ram Saran Verma, reflecting the state’s effort to celebrate successful farming innovators.
The event served as a platform to discuss broader agrarian reforms implemented by the UP government, such as expanding MSP procurement centres, improving direct MSP payments, and enhancing market linkages for farmer produce, measures that have provided significant relief to farmers across multiple districts.
Concluding the programme, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to promoting value-driven, science-based agriculture and strengthening the rural economy, reinforcing Uttar Pradesh’s emerging role as a leader in India’s agricultural transformation.
