The Membership Mega Campaign 2025 in Uttar Pradesh has achieved a significant milestone, reflecting the growing trust in cooperative banking among rural communities. As of September 19, 2025, the campaign has successfully opened 8,553 new accounts, mobilizing deposits amounting to Rs 21.8 crore.

This initiative has garnered widespread participation across various districts, encompassing savings, current, recurring, and fixed deposit accounts. Additionally, 3,325 new members have joined Multipurpose Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (M-PACS), further strengthening the grassroots financial network.

Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Cooperation, J.P.S. Rathore, lauded the campaign’s success, describing it as a “remarkable achievement” for the cooperative sector. He expressed gratitude to farmers and members for their trust in cooperative banks, emphasizing the importance of such initiatives in fostering financial inclusion and rural development.

Aligned with the International Year of Cooperatives 2025, the campaign underscores the vital role of cooperative institutions in advancing financial inclusion and rural development. These institutions serve as crucial platforms for providing financial services to underserved populations, thereby contributing to the economic empowerment of rural communities.

The success of this campaign not only highlights the effectiveness of cooperative banks in mobilizing savings but also demonstrates the potential of such initiatives in promoting sustainable economic growth in rural areas.

Looking ahead, the Uttar Pradesh government is committed to further strengthening the cooperative sector. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed officials to prepare a roadmap for establishing a State Cooperative College aimed at enhancing education and research in the cooperative sector.

This initiative is expected to promote study, teaching, and research in the cooperative sector, thereby fostering a more robust and efficient cooperative system in the state.

The Membership Mega Campaign 2025 serves as a testament to the growing confidence in cooperative banking and its pivotal role in rural economic development. By continuing to build on this momentum, Uttar Pradesh can pave the way for a more inclusive and sustainable financial ecosystem that benefits all segments of its population.
