Thakur led Expert Committee to recast PGDCBM program of VAMNICOM

Pune headquartered Vamnicom constituted the Expert Committee for Restructuring the Post Graduate Diploma in Cooperative Business Management (PGDCBM) program under the chairmanship of Sahakar Bharati Chairman D N Thakur. The first meeting of the committee was held last week in which all the members of the committee were present.

The members of the committee include, NCDC Chief Director (Retd.) Satish Tucker, Dr K K Tripathy, IES, National Federation of Cooperative Sugar Factories MD Prakash Naiknaware, Udaipur Co-op Milk Producers Union Limited Former Chairperson Geeta Patel, NCUI Deputy CE Savitri Singh and others.

It is noted that the Centre for Cooperative Management under the roof of VAMNICOM runs its flagship program namely Post Graduate Diploma in Cooperative Business Management (PGDCBM) program, earlier called Diploma in Cooperative Business Management (DCBM) was first launched in 1967. As on today VAMNICOM completed 56th batches of said program.

Revitalizing the Curriculum, Revision of the existing 26-week duration of the PGDCBM Program, Curriculum Development with the involvement of internal faculty and external experts, offering courses in Self-learning mode- online format incorporating cutting-edge practices, and integrating Practical training to equip students with relevant skills and knowledge were high on the agenda of the first meeting, according to a Facebook post of Vamnicom.

On this occasion, the committee members exchanged valuable insights and ideas, emphasizing the need to bridge the gap between theory and practice through experiential learning opportunities and industry collaborations.

Vamnicom Director Dr. Hema Yadav and Prof. S. Y Deshpande, Program Director, PGDBM program were also present on the occasion.

Post-Graduation Diploma in Cooperative Business Management (PGDCBM) is a core program of VAMNICOM which aims to improve the decision-making abilities and administrative competence of practicing and professional managers in co-operatives and other institutions.
