Soon after taking over as the Chief Minister of Telangana, Revanth Reddy has sacked the Chairman of more than twelve co-operatives where retired Babus were ruling the roost. So far, no news of sacking of elected co-operators has come.
One of the prominent co-operators of Telangana K Ravindra Rao is safe so far. Rao is not only the Chairman of apex national body for State Co-op Banks, NAFSCOB but is also the Chairman of Telangana State Co-op Bank and that of DCCB, Karimnagar.
Though an elected co-operator who has risen from the grassroots, Rao also grew close to the recently ousted CM KCR. But Rao is said to have begun his political career with the Congress only.
In a chance meeting with this correspondent in Ahmedabad, Rao said “Change of guard should not affect co-operative politics as it is different from electoral politics”. He added that primarily he is a Congressman.
Media reports say that the Revanth Reddy Government has sacked 54 chairmen of various corporations. Telangana Chief Secretary A Santhi Kumari released orders in this regard.
