Sunil plans mega co-op show in Patna; invites Tomar and Awasthi

Bihar’s co-operative marketing federation BISCOMAUN is organizing a mega three-day cooperative conference in Bihar from February 22-24. Biscomaun Chairman Dr Sunil Kumar Singh was in Delhi last week inviting cooperators for the event. He met Union Minister Narendra Singh Tomar and invited him for the same. Later he also invited IFFCO MD Dr U S Awasthi by visiting him in his office in Saket, Delhi.

Many of his friends such as Gopal Giri and Ramesh Chaubey say that the Chairman has grand plans in his mind for the mega co-op show. The three days are so planned as to allow time for deliberations on co-op issues on the one hand and visits to Bihar’s tourist destinations on the other. “It aims to showcase Bihar in the best possible manner and the experience is going to be memorable”, they added.

“Bihar’s Governor, its Cooperative Minister Rana Randhir Singh as well as its agriculture minister Dr Prem Kumar would participate in the co-op show. And so would co-operators from across the country, said Sunil to Indian Cooperative.

Biscomaun Chairman says that those who have confirmed their presence include NCUI President Dr Chandra Pal Singh, IFFCO MD Dr U S Awasthi, Nafed Chairman Bijender Singh, NAFSCOB Chairman Dileep Sanghani, among others. “Sahakar Bharati Patron and NAFCUB President Jyotindra Mehta is also coming”, he added.

“Let the time come and let the calendar slide a little; you would see Patna painted in cooperative colours”, said Sunil recalling the four-year old co-op conference organized by Biscomaun last time which had seen Patna plastered with huge cut-outs of cooperative icons. Indian Cooperative had extensively covered the event.

Besides cooperators coming from different parts of the country, those from Bihar are taking the event as a matter of pride for their state Bihar. “They are doing everything possible to make the event a grand success”, said Giri, who is Vice-Chairman of Biscomaun and a close confidant of Sunil.

The three-day event would kick off in the second half of 22nd February with lighting of lamp by the state cooperative minister Rana Randhir Singh. Meetings of different co-op federations would begin soon after in the Maurya Hotel, according to the program schedule available with Indian Cooperative.

Later in the evening the Governor of Bihar is slated to inaugurate the NAFSCOB Board meeting at the Ashoka Darbara Hall. The two ministers- Rana Randhir Singh and Dr Prem Kumar would also welcome eminent co-operators coming from various parts of the country.

Next day that is on 23rd is going to be a big day, says Sunil. The focus of the event would shift to Bapu Sabhagar-the newly built auditorium near Gandhi Maidan with a capacity of accommodating more than 6000 people. The main theme of the conference “Doubling farmers’ income through agriculture and cooperatives” is going to be discussed extensively, stated Sunil sharing details of the program.

Guests coming from other states are slated to visit the Birth-place of the 10th Guru- Guru Govind Singh in Patna City after the conference. Next day, early morning these guests would leave for tourist destinations such as Pavapuri, Nalanda, Rajgir and Bodhgaya in Bihar.

Taking keen interest in the preparation of the event, the Biscomaun Chairman has also created a WhatsApp group titled “Bihar Cooperative Conference 2020”. There are more than 200 co-operators in this group and they come from all the parts of India- from Kashmir to Kanyakumari. Minutest details related to the event are being given on this WhatsApp group round the clock.
