Biscomaun’s Maha Kumbh of cooperatives slated to begin from 22nd February, 2020 is being supported whole-heartedly by the state govt, as was revealed by Rana Randhir Singh, Cooperative Minister in a TV interview.

The Minister said that the state is organizing a massive cooperative conference in which detailed and meaningful discussions about the Prime Minister’s dream of doubling farmers income would take place.

Several top-notch cooperators from across the country are coming to the land of Patliputra and we are looking forward to welcome them, said Rana Randhir Singh.

Several ministers of Nitish Cabinet are expected to participate in the mega co-operative conference, sources add. “Even CM Nitish Kumar was eager to join but due to his pre-booked engagement in Darbhanga on 23rd he would not be able to do so, said an official.

It bears recall that the Biscomaun Chairman had, in an interview given earlier to Indian Cooperative said that state agriculture minister and cooperative minister would felicitate top cooperators from across the nation on the occasion.

Elaborating about the event the state co-op minister said “We also look forward to inviting PACS members and progressive farmers of the state; they would be felicitated as well as given some kind of orientation training for achieving the target of doubling income by 2022, underlined Randhir.

Besides local participants, about 176 cooperators are coming from outside the state, the Biscomaun chairman revealed in an informal chat. “Maurya, Panace, Ginger- you name any hotel and it is already booked for the grand event’, said one of his aides assigned with the job of arranging for the stay of cooperators.

Bapu Sabhagar, an auditorium with perhaps the capacity of accommodating the highest number of particpants (6000) in Patna is being spruced up for the event. A couple of days ago Biscomaun Chairman Sunil Kumar Singh visited the auditorium along with his team to take stock of the situation.

“I have not seen this Auditorium being filled to capacity so far and perhaps it would go to the credit of the co-operative sector only to do so”, said a beaming Chairman who has planned several separate gates such as Sri Lal Shukla Gate, Sahkarita Gate, etc for the occasion.

Sunil has other grand plans also, one of which is short films on the cooperative icons of our times. A few samples on cooperators like NCUI President Chandra Pal Singh, IFFCO MD Dr U S Awasthi and Gujarat strongman Dileep Sanghani are already doing the rounds on social media.

In order to have an organized and coordinated show, the Biscomaun officials have got the registration of local delegates done, which shows their names, telephone numbers and the areas from which they come. Invitations for those connected with cooperatives in general have also been sent out by the Biscomaun.

In the last leg, huge cut-outs of co-op icons from across the county would be pasted at all the important chowks and Chaurahas of Patna, said an official. “Patna would turn out to be the Cooperative Capital of the world”, he said enthusiastically.
