Amitbhai Shah has again been given the charge of the Home and Cooperation portfolios in the Modi 3.0 Regime. This news has spread waves of happiness among the cooperatives across the nation.
It is worth mentioning that the Ministry of Cooperation was formed for the first time in the country during the tenure of the Modi 2.0 regime. Being a veteran in the cooperative field, Amitbhai was aware of the issues related to the cooperative sector. He emphasized bringing reforms to the sector on a priority basis.
Shah formed a high-level committee to set up a Cooperative Policy for the country under the chairmanship of Shri Suresh Prabhu, a veteran co-operator himself, to bring reforms to the Cooperative sector that led to a new wave in the sector.
In the meantime, India made the world realize that a small man’s life could be improved with the help of cooperatives. It also demonstrated the conviction that the cooperative sector is capable of providing competition to the corporate world.
Looking at the background of his experience of working from the PACS (Primary Agricultural Credit Society) to the apex level, the faith in Amitbhai Shah has been strengthened that he can bring new heights and dignity through the cooperative sector.
Now that Amitbhai Shah has again taken over the reins of the Cooperative Ministry, the unfinished journey of reforms from the past will resume, and the Cooperative sector will have a fresh look at self-reliance and self-development.
