Union Minister of Home Affairs and Cooperation Amit Shah will address a National Cooperative Conference on “Prosperity through Cooperation – Role of Cooperatives in Sustainable Agriculture,” being organized by Krishak Bharati Cooperative Limited (KRIBHCO) on December 24, 2025, at the Indradhanush Auditorium in Panchkula, Haryana.
The conference aims to provide a national platform for policy-level deliberations and practical strategies to strengthen cooperative-based agricultural models in the face of emerging economic and climate challenges.
The conference will focus on promoting sustainable agriculture, expanding the role of Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS), ensuring income stability for small and marginal farmers, and addressing the impacts of climate change on agriculture through cooperative solutions.
The deliberations are aligned with the vision of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi for “Prosperity through Cooperation,” which emphasizes empowering farmers and rural communities through strong, transparent, and technology-enabled cooperatives.
Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini will attend the conference as a Special Guest, highlighting the state’s active engagement in strengthening the cooperative sector. Union Ministers of State for Cooperation Shri Krishan Pal Gurjar and Murlidhar Mohol, Haryana Minister of Cooperation Dr. Arvind Kumar Sharma, and Haryana Minister for Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Shri Shyam Singh Rana will also participate, underlining the multi-level government support for cooperative-led development.
On the occasion, Amit Shah will e-inaugurate key cooperative infrastructure projects, including a Milk Cooling Centre at Salempur in Bhiwani district and the HAFED Atta Mill at Jatusana in Rewari district. These initiatives are expected to strengthen rural supply chains, improve value addition, and enhance income opportunities for farmers and cooperative members. The Union Minister will also distribute RuPay Platinum Debit Cards to beneficiaries of cooperative banks in Haryana, promoting financial inclusion and digital banking within the cooperative ecosystem.
In another significant step, registration certificates will be distributed to Presidents of newly established Multi-Purpose Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (M-PACS) set up by Haryana KRIBHCO, reflecting ongoing efforts to modernize and diversify the functions of PACS. Shri Shah will also inaugurate a dedicated portal showcasing activities being undertaken during the International Year of Cooperatives (IYC) 2025, highlighting India’s cooperative achievements and initiatives.
The conference will emphasize the dissemination of advanced agricultural knowledge, access to affordable credit, adoption of modern technologies, and promotion of organic and climate-resilient farming practices through cooperatives. Recent policy initiatives of the Ministry of Cooperation, measures to strengthen PACS, and the expanding role of national cooperative institutions like KRIBHCO will be discussed in detail.
Senior officials from the Union Ministry of Cooperation, KRIBHCO, the Government of Haryana, representatives of national and state-level cooperative institutions, PACS, farmer organizations, and other stakeholders will participate.
With KRIBHCO’s long-standing contribution to fertilizer supply, agricultural advisory services, and farmer-centric initiatives, the Panchkula conference is expected to give renewed momentum to India’s cooperative movement during the International Year of Cooperatives 2025.
