Shah to inaugurate computerization of Uttarakhand’s PACS today

Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah will inaugurate the computerization work of 670 PACCs of Uttarakhand today (on 30th March 2023) from Rishikul Ground, Haridwar. Shah will also launch different schemes of the cooperative department and the cooperative department is busy giving the finishing touches to the preparations.

Confirming the news, Uttarakhand Cooperative Secretary BVRC Parshottam said, “Yes, the Union Home and Cooperation Minister will inaugurate the computerization work of 670 PACCs of the state. We are the first state in India that has done the computerization of the PACCs”, he added.

Meanwhile, in view of the Union Minister’s visit to Uttarakhand, Cabinet Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat gave necessary guidelines to the departmental officers regarding preparations related to the launch of the program and various schemes.

The State Cooperation Minister Dr Dhan Singh Rawat is busy in giving finishing touches to the preparations. He also visited the spot of the proposed event at Haridwar and took stock of the situation. Besides, Rawat also interacted with the BJP workers at Haridwar, in which local MLA Madan Kaushik also participated.

Rawat said, the work of computerization of multipurpose cooperative societies in 670 Nyaya Panchayats across the state has been successfully completed. With this, the farmers across the state will be able to get various facilities under one roof through PACCs.

Apart from felicitating the progressive farmers who have done excellent work in the field of agriculture and horticulture, cheques will also be distributed to the beneficiaries who have received loans at zero interest rate under the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Kisan Kalyan Yojana.

During the programme, presentation of various schemes of the Cooperative Department will also be given before the Union Home Minister.

On this occasion, Haridwar MP Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank and other cabinet ministers and departmental officers of the state will be present along with the State Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami.

Earlier, the state Chief Minister said that for the computerization of 670 PACs of Uttarakhand, the total expenditure incurred was Rs 18.76 crore. PACS operate at village and panchayat levels, and are the basic and smallest credit institutions of the country.

It is worth mentioning that the work of computerization of PACS in all the states is going on very speedily. As soon as the cooperative ministry was created and Amit Shah became the first cooperative minister, he laid special emphasis on the PACCs. Shah not only focused on doing their computerization but also opened many new business opportunities for them, to make them self-sustained and self-reliant.
