Several ministers to attend Sah Bharati credit co-op event tomorrow

The RSS affiliated cooperative organization- Sahakar Bharati is all set to organize a two day mega cooperative conference for credit cooperatives at ICAR, Delhi, which will kick off on 2nd December 2023.

The top-notch office bearers of Sahakar Bharati and other concerned officials are busy giving the finishing touches to preparations.

Talking to Indian Cooperative Sahakar Bharati National General Secretary Uday Joshi said, “We are leaving no stone unturned in making the event a grand success. All the preparations are afoot and we are keeping watch on every part of the event and monitoring the same”, he said.

“Though, the confirmation of Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah is yet to come, Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar, Union Minister of State for Cooperation BL Verma confirmation have already consented to attend the event”, said Joshi who visited the site of the event on Thursday to take stock of preparations.

He further added, more than 7000 delegates would attend the event representing 1200 credit co-ops from different states. The majority of participation would be from Maharashtra, Gujarat and Karnataka.

The event will provide a platform for exchanging the issues of credit co-operatives and prepare the road map for the cooperatives to strengthen further. The valedictory event will be graced by the Union Minister of State for Finance Bhagwat Karad.

The demands related to credit co-ops include Credit CoOps be entitled for the services like CIBIL, provisions SARFAESI Act to Credit CoOps for speedy, effective & efficient recovery of loans, Empowering Credit Co-ops to invest in Govt Securities and they must be allowed to participate in Govt Schemes like Mudra Loans.

Recently, one of the Indian Cooperative correspondents visited many credit co-ops of Maharashtra and their representatives shared their plight in regard to running credit co-ops with this correspondent. They demanded that there should be a level playing field for credit cooperatives which are working in the interest of the downtrodden people of society.
