In an unscheduled visit, NCUI President and Rajya Sabha MP Dr Chandra Pal Singh landed in a remote village of Bihar where he met hundreds of PACS Chairmen and feasted on the famed Bihari dish Litti-Chokha.
“Actually NCUI President, as part of a visiting Parliamentary Standing Committee landed at the Patna Airport where I met him and requested him to visit my village Dumri Bujurg, about 20 kilometers from Patna near Sonepur in Saran district; he was gracious enough to accept the invitation”, said Biscomaun Chairman Sunil Kumar Singh who had gone with several cooperators to receive him at the airport.
Besides Sunil Singh, top cooperators of the state who accompanied Chandra Pal right from Patna Airport to Dumri Bujurg included Gopal Giri, Ram Kalevar Singh, Raghuvansh Narayan Singh and Ramesh Chandra Chaube, among others.
Sunil Singh and his team could inform most of the PACS Chairmen of NCUI President’s impending visit to the Saran district in north Bihar on short notice. “Out of 350 PACS Chairmen in the district more than 100 could make it, though we had only 4 hours to prepare, claimed Sunil Singh.
Talking to PACS members NCUI President underlined the inherent strength of cooperative model and exhorted them to strengthen it without any selfish motive. He also said that after seeing peoples’ enthusiasm I can say that Bihar is capable of igniting a co-op movement as Gujarat has done. “Cooperators were amused to find him amidst them in this sleepy village of North Bihar”, said Sunil.
Later, NCUI President feasted on the traditional Bihari food Litti-Chokha along with many other guests present on the occasion. After his stay overnight at Sunil’s sprawling village house, Chandra Pal came to the Biscomaun headquarters in Patna and inaugurated its newly constructed Lobby.
At the Biscoamun headquarters, Chandra Pal also saw firsthand the smooth process involved in the online sale of IFFCO fertilizers by Biscomaun. Lauding Biscomaun’s role in supplying urea to the farmers of the state in a transparent manner, he also promised to lend all help from Kribhco should Biscoamun need it. Chandra Pal is also the Chairman of Kribhco.
