Matching Sunil Singh’s recent show, his rivals led by Vinay Sahi chairman of Bihar Cooperative Federation Limited organized a state level seminar last week in Patna which was addressed by two cabinet ministers in the Nitish government including State Cooperative Minister Rana Randhir Singh and State Health Minister Mangal Pandey.
The theme of the seminar was “Cooperative role in doubling the income of farmers”.
“You are unnecessarily gaga over the Biscomaun AGM; see our show, two ministers had come and the whole of Patna was overwhelmed by co-operators coming from all parts of the state”, said Sahi on the phone to Indian Cooperative.
Sahi, among others, has support of two towering co-operators- Vishal Singh and Vijay Singh and thus his confidence, explained a local co-operator to this correspondent.
Coming to the seminar, Cooperative Minister Rana Randhir Singh said, “Cooperative can play an important role in doubling the income of farmers by 2022. Our government has launched several schemes for the benefits of farmers”.
Singh announced that he will talk with Chief Minister about constructing a Bhawan on the federation land. This will provide training to representatives of cooperative societies.

In his speech Health Minister Mangal Pandey said, “Cooperatives are becoming a part of the development in the state. Co-ops are already playing an important role in the banking sector but now they are enhancing their foot-print in the health sector as well which is commendable”.
“Earlier people were not informed about the cooperative election in the state, they learnt about it only after the results were out. The government has changed the system and formed the authority for conducting elections in a free and fair manner”, he underlined.
The function was presided over by the Bihar Cooperative Federation Chairman Vinay Shahi. He said, “PACS have land between 10 decimal to 30 decimal on which godowns are constructed. The PACs should plant fruit trees which can help them increase their income”.
“The Federation is doing so much for the uplifment of the cooperative sector. He demanded that rice mills should be set up in all the PACS and godowns.
The seminar was attended by several eminent cooperators from Bihar including Tapindu Urban Cooperative Chairman and NAFED Director Vishal Singh, Bihar Cooperative Housing Federation Chairman Vijay Singh and many others.
