Sahakar Bharati organizes mega UCB conclave; Rajasthan CM to Inaugurate

Sahakar Bharati and the Rajasthan Cooperative Department will jointly host a two-day national conference of Urban Cooperative Banks at Birla Auditorium, Statue Circle, Jaipur, beginning today.

The high-profile event will be inaugurated by Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, while Cooperation Minister Gautam Dak will attend as a special guest.

Reserve Bank of India Director Satish Marathe will deliver the keynote address, setting the stage for discussions on key challenges and emerging opportunities in the cooperative banking sector.

The gathering, scheduled for September 10–11, will bring together policymakers, banking experts, and cooperative leaders from across the country to deliberate on the future of urban cooperative banking in India.

Delegates from urban cooperative banks representing regions from Kashmir to Kanyakumari will participate in the event, underscoring its national significance. Organizers have described the conference as a historic step toward charting a long-term growth vision for the cooperative banking sector.

Across two days, subject experts will lead detailed sessions on contemporary issues that are reshaping banking. Cybersecurity in banking will be discussed by Krishnashastri from Hyderabad, while Sharad Gangal, Chairman of TJSB Bank, Thane, will share strategies for attracting and retaining quality human resources in cooperative banks.

In addition, Ajay Nikumbh, Yogesh Walunjkar, and Prakash Shinde will present insights on digital banking, data analytics, artificial intelligence, and business intelligence, areas increasingly vital for modern banking operations.

The agenda will also feature in-depth discussions on the Prompt Corrective Action (PCA) framework, one-time settlement strategies, financial sector wealth management (FSWM), and the formulation of mission statements and long-term strategies for the next 5–10 years.

The sharing of successful case studies from progressive cooperative banks will provide participants with practical guidance and inspiration.

The valedictory session is scheduled for September 11 at 2:30 PM and will be presided over by Rajasthan Governor Haribhau Bagde, who will deliver the closing address.

Organizers have expressed confidence that this convention will become a milestone in shaping the future direction of urban cooperative banks.
