Sahakar Bharati in expansion mode; opens several new offices

Matching with the growth of co-op movement in India led by Union Minister Amit Shah, Sahakar Bharati is also busy expanding its footprints in different parts of the country with the opening of many new offices in the last six months.

Billed to play a crucial role in boosting its roots at the state and district levels, a few of such offices are self-owned property of Sahakar Bharati, said some officials of the RSS leaning co-op body.

Talking to the Indian Cooperative Sahakar Bharati President D N Thakur said, “We are now having offices in almost all the states, except Ladakh and Arunachal Pradesh. Sahakar Bharati recently opened offices in Punjab, Gujarat, Assam, Madhya Pradesh and some other states.

“You would be surprised that in 10 states, offices are self-owned. Through these offices, we are creating awareness about cooperatives among the common public, especially in rural areas”, Thakur added.

Thakur further said, Sahakar Bharati is active in 700 districts of the country and its officials restlessly work to take the organization to newer heights. During the year, Sahakar Bharati is planning to organize several national level programs for different sectors, added the President who earlier worked in the Ministry.

Meanwhile, Sahakar Bharati has engaged itself with creation and strengthening of local cooperatives for realizing the mandate of Arth Ganga- a concept, propounded by Prime Minister Narendra Modi for river rejuvenation leading to the growth of the sustainable economic model, stated Thakur.

“Sahakar Bharati workers spread across the country are also actively participating in taking the cooperative movement to newer heights. They are not only creating awareness about cooperatives among the common people but also urging them to become a part of this movement, which aims to empower farmers as well as the rural economy”, claimed the President of the body.

President DN Thakur and other important office bearers including UdayJoshi, Sanjay Pachpor, Jyotindra Mehta, Satish Marathe and others are also active in deepening the roots of the cooperative movement. Sahakar Bharati also keeps on raising issues confronting the cooperative sector before the government.

Sahakar Bharati is also planning to organize a national level women conference in December in Hyderabad and in this connection the organization’s National Women Head Mrs Rewati is touring different states for inviting the women to the Adhiveshan.
